Aunctionhouse?!
Hi guys,
Before telling me that GW may not be a look-a-like WoW and stuff, i just want you to read and think about the idea.
I have a really hard time telling what my gold items are worth, and i must ask everyone which is extremely annoying for those persons. So i thought, why not introduce somesort of aunctionhouse like WoW? I always sell my goldies to a merchant because i hate spamming in the big cities for people that want to buy my junk. Maybe it's just me or maybe other people think the same as me.
If you would plz put a reply here with Yes (to agree) or No (Disagree) with a proper reason..So plz don't put the bullcrap here about me wanting to transform gw into Wow and that i'm a bloody fool. Just a good reason. I thank you all ^^
Healing Whiteman!

Yes, auctionhouses could be a nice addition to the game and make the selling easier.
But people have asked for a better selling sytem for some time, A'net kind of replied with 'Search', and I don't think they'll make an auction house, in GW2 maybe but not now.

yes, but the sooner the better ,
well i think it would be possible (with the gw1 engine) just to have an npc in the major towns like Lions Arch, Kamadan, etc... that has an auction list. Well we can't know for sure its possible unless A'net themselves say it is

It's not possible. They won't do it. Forget about it.
The database structure behind GW1 doesn't allow for a quick and efficient implementation of an action house, expecially not at this point when the development cycle is at its end: it would simply be too expensive in terms of time and effort. If anyone's interested in the technical details, I will link a couple articles based on dev interviews stating the reasons.
Just wait and hope for GW2.

This is only the zillionth thread on the subject started in Sardelac.
Yes, it would be nice. Yes we would all love it. No they are not implementing it in GW1 as the devs have already stated. Get over it. Move on.

This has been brought up many times, Anet already stated they will NOT make an auction house for GW1. Also as others said use search first.

Wouldn't it be usefull when declaring what arenanet will or won't do that the poster says when and where they said it if possible with a link to the original source.
Or at least that it was they that saw the declaration and it's not third or forth hand.
I really am not trying to be obstinate here or call someones word into disrepute, but it would be good if a list of official yays and nays was posted and added to in the faq.
Also be good if such statements were declared valid or not by the moderators.

I'm sorry that we don't keep a link of everything Anet has ever said or done.

Been asked for and refused by Anet numerious times. there are many reasons for it but first and foremost is selling items is just not needed. Nor is buying items. there simpily is NOTHING in this game that is impossibile to attain, or find an equivalent from a trader, collector, or crafter at little cost. So the inflated unreasonable prices that always float around the game for stuff needs nothing to legitimize them. as such no AH will ever make it into GW 1.
Another reason is a back channel agreement between developers to not pursue it further... Indeed GW alpha server had a AH system ready to go back during NF beta, but it was scraped for this reason. It was too similar to the WoW auction house system.
Now they are looking at the Blackmarket system in City of Villains. Which is by far a superior system. Fortunately the work going into that function is going into GW2 from the ground up. So the engine will have something for an AH built into it from the beginning, not requiring a major reconstruction of the engine as it would if it came to GW1.
Aspects of the Blackmarket expected to show up in GW2 is.- Extra sale slots available as you level
- Posting an item for sale shows auction history for instant price checks at posting (sales values trends and number available on the system).
(note this is the ACTUAL sales that go through the system, not Inflated sales postings that do not actually transact)
- Notifications of sale of item at time of final transaction so you can pickup payment
- Fee management for overpriced items that stay listed for too long and never purchased.
- Search function for entire BM Database. (type what your looking for and see what all is available in that category).
A result of this system coming to GW2 you can expect significantly less from crafters and traders and collectors when it comes to common max dmg weapons, as the AH will eventually have a significant inventory to choose from and at reasonably acceptable prices that is in line with acceptable demand.
